Porn actress Stormy Daniels linked to Trump wins a lawsuit against her arrest

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Pornographic actor Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a relationship with Donald Trump before being elected president, has agreed to a judicial settlement involving the capture of $ 450,000 with Columbus, Ohio, over her arrest at a nudity club, officials said Friday.

Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, was arrested in a club in 2018 on charges of sexual misdemeanors dropped shortly after.

In a lawsuit filed in January, Daniels noted that her arrest was politically motivated and filed a complaint about wrongful arrest and imprisonment as a violation of her civil rights.

Daniels, who initially demanded $ 2 million in compensation, accepted the settlement of the case for about a quarter of the amount, telling reporters: “It was never a question of money (…) but awareness.”

Her lawyer, Clark Brewster, said the case “was based on the question that she was targeted not because of what she did but because of her identity.”

The compromise comes at the end of a week of an official inquiry aimed at isolating Trump in connection with a scandal over a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky, to bring new claims and other investigations into his relations into focus.

These cases include an investigation in New York over Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen illegally paying Daniels and Karen McDougall, who have confirmed ties with Trump before running for president in exchange for their silence.

Cohen stated in his testimony that the amount he paid to Daniels and considered illegal use of the funds in the campaign, was ordered by Trump personally and that the latter compensated him himself – something likely to have criminal consequences.
