UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The Moscow musical theater and the Canadian circus theater The 7 Fingers present the premiere of the musical Prime Time.
This is the second performance after the famous “Princess of the Circus”, created by the Russian-Canadian team, and the first original musical about life in modern Russia.
PrimeTime will show off the fascinating cuisine of television, the backstage of show business and the grueling struggle for popularity. But it is also a performance about the happiness of creativity, the search for one’s place under the sun, true friendship and, of course, love.
According to the plot, the young provincial Anya is being selected for the country’s main vocal television contest. In the capital, she is faced not only with grueling rehearsals, successful performances and first fans, but also with the intrigues of competitors and dubious offers of producers who have their own plans for a new star.
The idea of the play belongs to the artistic director of the Musical Theater Mikhail Shvydkoy.
The music for the show was written by the Canadian composer Maxim Lepage, known for his work for Cirque du Soleil, the poet and musician Alexey Kortnev became the author of the poems. The play was written by Elena Kiseleva, who received the Word award for the script of Andron Konchalovsky’s film “Paradise” .
The premiere of the play Prime Time will take place on March 5 at the Moscow Musical Theater.
