UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Britain’s Prince Charles said in an interview with the Sunday Times that he would like to make an official visit to Iran.

“Yes, I would definitely like it (going to Iran),” the newspaper quoted Prince Charles as saying.

“I know that Iran has been an important part of the world for many centuries and has contributed a lot to human knowledge, culture, poetry and art. I mean, he really is a wonderful people. ”

Prince Charles’s desire to visit Iran comes at a time of increasing tension between Tehran and the West.

Prince Charles told the newspaper that he seeks to be a peacemaker and that he is praying for peace in the Middle East.

“I think the most important thing is a just and lasting peace,” he added during the interview, repeating a statement he made on Friday.
