RUSSIA (OBSERVATORY) – Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The conversation took place on the initiative of the Israeli side.
During the talks, the leaders of Russia and Israel discussed Syrian issues. In particular, Putin raised the topic of missile strikes by the Israeli Air Force at the T-4 airbase located in Homs province.
The Russian president called on Tel Aviv to refrain from any actions that could lead to destabilization of the situation in Syria, the press service of the Kremlin reports.
In addition, the heads of state declared that attempts to falsify history and review the results of the Second World War are unacceptable. Netanyahu, in particular, indicated that on May 9 of this year Israel will officially celebrate Victory Day for the first time.
The Israeli Air Force attacked the Syrian airbase T-4 on the night of 9 April. According to media reports, F-15 planes fired eight missiles at the air base, without entering Syrian airspace. As a result of the attack , at least 14 people were killed .
