Putin: Russian military in Syria prevented major threats

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Russian troops in Syria destroyed well-equipped terrorist groups and averted major threats to Russia at distant frontiers, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Today, Russia’s security is in safe hands, our officers and soldiers are persistently, consistently, at a new level, conducting combat training, building up their military skills during strategic exercises and training, march throws,” Putin said, speaking at a concert on the occasion of the Day Defender of the Fatherland.

They confidently confirmed their high professionalism and combat effectiveness, fortitude and best qualities during the operation in Syria, Putin noted.

“They destroyed large, well-equipped terrorist groups, at far borders prevented great threats to our homeland, and helped the Syrians to maintain the sovereignty of the country,” said the President of the Russian Federation.

The head of state again thanked all participants in the hostilities in Syria for their service.
