Putin: Transferring Russian gas through Turkey to Europe will have an effect on the European economy

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the inauguration of the “Turkish Stream” natural gas pipeline project, has stated that Russian-Turkish co-operation is developing in every area despite efforts to thwart them.

“The transfer of Russian gas to Europe through Turkey will have an effect on the entire European economy,” Putin said.

Speaking about the latest developments in the region, Putin stressed that “there is a tendency for tensions to rise in this region, while Turkey and Russia, on the other hand, show a very different tendency.”
