Queen Elizabeth passes legislation banning Brexit without agreement

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has finally approved legislation seeking to prevent Prime Minister Boris Johnson from getting the country out of the European Union on October 31 without agreement.

The move, known as royal approval, effectively means the Queen’s formal approval of the law passed by parliament last week despite government opposition. The royal approval was made in the House of Lords, the upper house of the British Parliament.
