YEMEN (OBSERVATORY) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Saturday via its official Twitter account that one of its employees was shot dead in Yemen.
Yemeni officials told Reuters the dead man was Hanna Lahoud, a Lebanese who was killed by unknown gunmen when they opened fire on his car in the city of Taiz.
A Saudi-led military alliance in Yemen enters in 2015 to support government forces fighting the Iranian-backed Huthis. Iran denies supplying Houthis with weapons.
More than 10,000 people have been killed in the Yemeni conflict and more than 2 million have been displaced and the country is on the verge of famine.
She said she was trying to get more information about the incident.
