UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has announced that his country plans to spend 1 trillion and 500 billion rubles (about 24 billion US dollars) to equip the Russian army during the year 2020.
This came during statements he made on Friday, at a ministry meeting on spending in the year 2020.
Shoigu added that about 68 percent of the amount allocated would be spent on purchasing modern weapons systems.
Last year, the Russian Ministry of Defense allocated 1 trillion and 440 billion rubles to equip the Russian army.
