UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Russia circulated a draft resolution of the UN Security Council condemning the blow to the United States, Britain and France over Syria.
The draft resolution requires “the US and its allies to immediately stop the aggression against Syria, as well as to refrain from further use of force in violation of the UN Charter and international law.”
On April 14, the United States, France and the United Kingdom launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Syria. More than 100 cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles were fired. The Syrian air defense system hit most of them on approach to their targets.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sharply condemned the actions of the coalition, calling them an act of open aggression against a sovereign state and reminded about last year’s air strike at Shayrat airbase.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the West has nothing to substantiate the missile strike on Syria, except for information published in the media and social networks.
