Russia did not exclude the supply of S-300 to Syria

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) –┬áRussia does not exclude that it will return to consideration of the issue of deliveries of S-300 SAMs to Syria and other countries. This statement was made by Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy.

He stressed that several years ago Russia refused to supply air defense systems to Syria, listening to Western partners.

“Taking into account what happened, we consider it possible to return to consideration of this issue. And not only with regard to Syria, but also other states, “Rudskoy said on the air of the Rossiya 24 television channel.

On April 14, the United States, Great Britain and France struck a missile strike on Syria’s military and civilian infrastructure. More than 100 cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles were fired over the territory of the Arab Republic. Most of them were shot down by the air defense system of the Arab Republic.

The Russian authorities condemned the actions of Western states that struck a missile attack, without waiting for the results of an investigation by experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. In this regard, Moscow convenes an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

The missile strike against Syria was a response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in the city of the Duma. Non-governmental organizations, including White Helmets, spread information about the attack.
