Russia is building a Kalashnikov plant in Saudi Arabia

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Russian Federation for Military-Technical Cooperation, said that Moscow is counting on building a Kalashnikov 103 automatic rifle factory in Saudi Arabia.

Shugayev also announced on Wednesday that a Kalashnikov rifle factory is also scheduled to open in 2020-202.

He told reporters at the “Max-2019” international aviation exhibition, that Russia continues to implement contracts for the repair of military equipment of the Venezuelan army, adding that the staff of Russian companies are now working on this subject.

“We have existing contracts with Venezuela, and as far as the situation allows today, we continue to work to maintain the combat readiness of the delivered equipment. This country has Russian air defense equipment, the Anti-20500 itself the export version of the S-300. “Requiring to maintain combat readiness, there are also helicopters and aircraft, all of which require repair and supply of spare parts.”

The head of the Russian Federation for Military-Technical Cooperation pointed out that “Russian industrial enterprise teams” are working in Venezuela to help repair equipment for Venezuelan counterparts.
