Russian border guards detained a ship trying to hide with Ukrainians

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Crimean border guards detained a boat aboard which were four Ukrainians without documents.

The captain of the vessel, when requested to stop, tried to hide. The boat was caught, during the inspection they found a fixed net (illegal fishing gear) and about 300 fish (flounder-kalkan).

The detainees could not produce ship, registration documents, as well as permits for the right to extract biological resources.

They were delivered to the port of Kerch for trial.

This is not the first time that Ukrainian poachers have been caught off the coast of Crimea. In May and August 2018, two small vessels YaMK-0041 and YaOD-2105 were detained. In October, part of the crew was exchanged for seven residents of the Crimea with the Nord seiner (detained by Ukrainian border guards in the Sea of ​​Azov.
