IRAQ (OBSERVATORY) – The leader of the “Sadrist movement” Moqtada al-Sadr, on Saturday, his support for the return of Iraqi Jews to their country if their loyalty to Iraq.
In response to a question from one of his followers about the possibility of returning Iraqi Jews who were displaced from Iraq, Sadr said: “If their loyalty to Iraq is acceptable to them.”
Jewish citizens in Iraq accounted for more than 2% of the total Iraqi population in 1947, and this proportion dropped dramatically in 1951 after emigrating to Israel.
