UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung Electronics is developing a phone that folds into a square, according to Bloomberg , citing sources familiar with the situation.
“The South Korean manufacturer of smartphones is working on a device with a display of 6-7 inches, which folds to a small square,” the report said.
Samsung is collaborating with U.S. designer Thom Browne to develop its new foldable phone.
The company intends to create a thin phone that will focus on a wider circle of consumers, which in choosing a phone gives more preference to fashion and status than to technical characteristics.
The agency notes that, according to the source, the foldable phone will be equipped with a selfie camera on the inside and two cameras on the back of the open phone. On a closed phone, cameras will be located in front.
