SAUDI ARABIA (OBSERVATORY) – Qatar should send its troops to Syria if it does not want to lose its military support, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Tuesday.
“Qatar must pay for the presence of US troops in Syria and must send troops to Syria before the US president refuses to protect Qatar, which is represented by the US military base on its territory,” the media center of the Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry quotes al-Jubair.
He noted that if the US ceases to ensure the security of Qatar, then the regime in this country will be overthrown in less than a week.
Since last June, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have broken off diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing him of supporting terrorism and stopping all communication with him. Kuwait’s attempts to reconcile its neighbors across the region were unsuccessful.
