Saudi Arabia: Southern separatists in Yemen should hand over military bases to the government of Aden

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Yemen’s southern separatists should hand over military bases and government buildings in Aden, Saudi Arabia said on Thursday in a statement carried by the official news agency.

“Any attempt to destabilize Yemen is a threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom and the region, and will not hesitate to deal with it with all firmness,” the statement said.

Saudi Arabia has struggled recently to maintain a military alliance fighting the Iranian-allied Houthi group after local allies turned against each other in a power struggle that has weakened Riyadh’s alliance with its main regional partner, the UAE.
