Saudi king calls for the union of the Arab Gulf states to confront Iran

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Saudi King King Salman opened the Gulf Cooperation Council summit on Tuesday by calling for the region’s union to confront Iran and secure energy supplies and marine channels.

King Salman said, “Our region today is experiencing circumstances and challenges that call for concerted efforts to confront it, as the Iranian regime continues its hostilities to undermine security and stability.”

In a televised speech, he also urged the international community to deal with Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
