UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — A variant of the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) was first developed outside of China.
According to BBC news, a variant of the dangerous virus has been developed in a private laboratory in Melbourne, Australia by an infected person.
Australian scientists have announced that the coronavirus variant could be used as a “control material” and “could cause tremendous developments in diagnostics”.
The findings will be shared with the World Health Organization (WHO) to help diagnose and treat.
Chinese scientists also previously copied the new coronavirus to develop the vaccine.
According to them, the new coronavirus can infect even during the incubation period. The WHO reported that this could happen between 2 and 10 days.
The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) first appeared in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei region of China. The first symptoms of the coronavirus are high fever, sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing and diarrhea, while in the later advanced stage it causes kidney disease and insufficiency and can eventually lead to death.
Recall that so far 132 people have died in China as a result of the coronavirus epidemic which first appeared on December 12 in Wuhan City, with a total of 5,974 people infected.
