UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The second US destroyer can arrive in the Mediterranean in a few days.
In this region, there is already a US destroyer USS Donald Cook, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources in the Pentagon.
“The US already has one USS Donald Cook destroyer in the east of the Mediterranean, from where it can participate in any attack on Syria … The second, USS Porter, can get there in a few days,” the reporters of the newspaper write.
Earlier, Washington Examiner, referring to its source in the US Department of Defense, said that USS Donald Cook on Monday left the port in Cyprus and began moving towards Syria.
It is also reported that on board the destroyer are 60 cruise missiles Tomahawk.
In turn, the Turkish publication Hurriyet said that the destroyer flew at least four times Russian combat aircraft, but representatives of the US defense department later denied this information.
