Senior Houthi official killed in Arab-led coalition air raid in Yemen

YEMEN (OBSERVATORY) –┬áThe leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah group, Abdel-Malik al-Houthi, mourned the death of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council leader Saleh al-Samad and blamed the United States and Saudi Arabia for his assassination. Crime will not pass without accountability.”

“This crime and other crimes will not go unpunished,” Houthi said, blaming the Saudi-led coalition for it.
Al-Houthi said in a speech broadcast by the group’s Al-Masirah channel: “God honored the president with his martyrdom and his wish, which he wished to conclude.

He added: “The people see the martyrdom of the martyred president as an incentive for more giving and steadfastness and strengthening the internal front.”

He explained that “the martyr died on Thursday with six of his companions after a raid in Hodeidah, in the street near the 50 rounds of Al-Aqsa three raids of the air force.”

The Supreme Political Council in Yemen, the killing of President Saleh al-Samad, following an air strike launched by the Arab-led coalition fighters, the province of Hodeidah.

“We congratulate the people of Yemen and the entire nation on the martyrdom of the president of the Supreme Political Council Saleh al-Samad,” the council said in a statement. “Mahdi al-Mashat was chosen as president for the next stage.”

The statement said that the killing was carried out Thursday afternoon, 19 April 2018 in the province of Hodeidah following an air raid by coalition aircraft.

The Council invited the masses of the Yemeni people to attend the honorable funeral of the body of the man in the time and place determined by the Organizing Committee, declaring national mourning for three days and flagging the flags for forty days.

The al-Masirah channel of the Ansar Allah group said the group’s leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, would speak shortly about the killing of the man.
