UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Several killed in Tennessee tornadoes, structures damaged.
At least 7 people were killed as 2 tornadoes touched down in central Tennessee early Tuesday, damaging about 40 buildings across the Nashville area.
The death toll from a tornado in the US Nashville area has risen to 6, according to ABC News.
Previously reported two dead. According to the channel, three people died in Putnam County, two in the East Nashville area and one person died as a result of the disaster in Benton County.
Authorities and police report that many were damaged, at least 40 buildings were destroyed. People are also under the rubble. Bad weather caused damage to power lines and gas pipelines.
According to NBC News, as a result of a tornado that began around 00.30 local time, more than 44 thousand consumers were left without electricity.
