Sisi stressed that Egypt will continue to support development efforts in southern Sudan

EGYPT (OBSERVATORY) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his country supports efforts to achieve calm in southern Sudan with the aim of “establishing security and stability”.

This came during a telephone conversation between President Sisi and President of Southern Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Al-Sisi stressed that Egypt will continue to support the development efforts in southern Sudan by enhancing bilateral cooperation and providing assistance and technical support to Southern Sudan.

For his part, President of South Sudan expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in various fields, praising Egypt’s role in promoting stability and development in southern Sudan.
