UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — News Agency reported the UAE official , citing the armed leadership of the country that six Emirati soldiers were killed in the “clash of military vehicles while performing their national duty in the land of operations.”
Abu Dhabi did not say whether soldiers had died in Yemen, where the coalition has been conducting military operations since 2015 in support of the recognized government and against the Houthis.
The UAE is one of the key countries in the Saudi-led military alliance in Yemen.
In July, the UAE authorities announced their intention to reduce the number of troops in Yemen, while stressing that their soldiers would not leave the country.
The UAE supports separatists who have been engaged in a military confrontation with Yemeni government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, since August.
