SYRIA (OBSERVATORY) – In Damascus, the Syrian President announced that the intensification of attacks and pressure on Syria would strengthen the will of the people to fight with terrorism.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Monday (April 30th), according to SANA.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria and the Syrian army’s major victories in the fight against terrorism, as well as the willingness of their respective countries to strengthen their strategic cooperation.
“Some in the region are redefining the map of the world,” said the Syrian president adding that the intensification of attacks and pressure on Syria would strengthen the will of the people to fight with terrorism and preserve their national sovereignty.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi also reiterated that the government and the nation of Iran continued to support Syria and work on a political solution to the crisis.
The plan of the United States and its regional allies ended in failure in Syria, he concluded.
