Sudan recorded first death from coronavirus

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — The first death from a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus was recorded in Sudan. This was reported with reference to the Ministry of Health of the country on Friday by the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera.

According to him, the man was screened for coronavirus three weeks ago after returning from the United Arab Emirates. The initial examination then gave a negative result.

Earlier, the Sudanese authorities did not publish information on cases of coronavirus infection in the republic.

An outbreak caused by the new coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of December 2019 in Central China. On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) recognized it as a pandemic. Cases of infection recorded in more than 110 countries. In total, according to WHO, over 125 thousand people were infected, about 4.6 thousand died. In the Russian Federation 34 cases of infection are registered.
