Syria demanded the withdrawal of all foreign troops from its territory

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Syria demands the withdrawal of all foreign troops from its territory and reserves the right to countermeasures, said the head of the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Walid Muallem.

“The United States and Turkey maintain an illegal military presence in northern Syria. They have reached such impudence as negotiating and creating a so-called security zone in northern Syria … this is a violation of international law and the UN charter,” said Muallam, speaking at the General Assembly UN.

He demanded the immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from the country.

“Otherwise, we have the right to any countermeasures in accordance with international law,” the minister said.
