UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Syrian military managed to bring down a large number of missiles launched on their country, according to official Syrian media on Saturday. Exact data in the messages are not given. It is said only about “many” downed rockets.
Syria authorities before the attacks of the United States and its allies evacuated people and equipment from areas on which the United States and its allies struck on Saturday, Al Arabiya TV channel reported.
The Al Jazeera TV channel, with links to information from the Syrian state television, reports that the Syrian anti-missile forces actively countered the missile attacks. According to the Syrian TV, all the missiles aimed at the city of Homs and its surroundings were shot down.
The Syrian army has air defense systems of Soviet and Russian production: S-200, Buk and some others. In 2011, it was reported that Syria bought from Russia 36 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems “Pantsir-C1.”
Earlier, the United States, Great Britain and France struck missiles at Syria in response to the hematoca allegedly carried out by Damascus in the city of Duma.
