UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The leader of the opposition Syrian negotiating committee (UPC), Nasr al-Hariri, appealed to the US and its allies to expand the operation. In his opinion, military actions should be directed not only at cutting off chemical weapons, but also the remaining actions of the troops of Assad.
“As long as Assad can carry out his strategy using conventional weapons, the Syrians will continue to die and there will be no solution to the conflict, and therefore we support the call of the Syrian people to the United States, Britain and France to expand the tasks of their military operations to put an end to such mass attacks,” in the opposition’s statement.
Not everyone in the forces of the Syrian opposition agrees with his position.
Recall that on Saturday the United States, France and Britain conducted a joint operation and released more than 100 missiles on Syrian targets. The Russian Federation convened an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
