Syrian troops knocked out terrorists from three villages west of Aleppo

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Syrian army units advancing in the western vicinity of Aleppo cleared the settlements of Sheikh Ali, Arad and Arnaz from terrorists on Wednesday. This was reported by SANA. According to him, as a result of the operation, government forces expanded the control zone over areas near the Aleppo-Damascus strategic highway.

Earlier, troops knocked out gangs from the suburbs of Khan al-Asal and the Rashidin-4 microdistrict, from where militants fired mortars from the western quarters of Aleppo.

The head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, Yuri Borenkov, announced on Wednesday the release of the M-5 strategic freeway from terrorists, which links the northern capital of Aleppo, which was under siege, with the southern cities of Syria – Hama, Homs and Damascus.

According to him, after establishing control over a section of this international highway, “a security zone was created, provided for by the Russian-Turkish memorandum of September 17, 2018.”
