Taliban commented on US “compelling intelligence”

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — The official representative of the Taliban movement, Sukhel Shahin categorically denied a report by the US military intelligence about the Taliban’s intention to continue the war against the government of Afghanistan.

Earlier, the military told NBC News that the Taliban wanted to wait for the withdrawal of US troops from the country and again attack government forces. US intelligence cited some “convincing intelligence” testifying to the intention of the Taliban to violate the agreement with the United States.

“The process is going well so far, and such comments by US officials cannot be confirmed,” Shahin said.

The US and the Taliban previously concluded a peace agreement. Washington will withdraw troops from Afghanistan in 14 months if the Taliban end the war and engage in dialogue with the government .
