Taliban suicide bombing at a hospital in Afghanistan killed 39 (official)

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — A Taliban suicide bombing at a hospital in southern Afghanistan on Thursday killed 39 people, raising the number from 20, a spokesman for the provincial governor said on Friday.

The number of injured in the attack in Qalat, capital of Zabul province, also rose to 140, said spokesman Gul Islam Sial.

“Only two of the dead were security personnel while the rest were civilians, including women, children, patients and visitors … The hospital was completely destroyed,” he said.
