Tehran promised to respond to the Israeli attack on the airbase in Syria

IRAN (OBSERVATORY) – Assistant to the supreme leader of Iran Ali Akbar Velayati on Tuesday said that Tehran will not leave unanswered the Israeli Air Force attack on the Syrian airbase in Homs province, IRNA news agency reported.

According to him, the attack “will not go unanswered.” He also noted that the attack on the air base is “a crime of Israel.”

Velayati is on a visit to Syria, where the first ever summit of Islamic unity is held. The assistant to the supreme leader of Iran is scheduled to hold talks with a number of high-ranking Syrian officials, during which the situation in the region and bilateral relations will be discussed.

On the eve of the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Kasemi, said that Tehran strongly condemns the Israeli air strike at the airbase in Syria, during which 14 people were killed. As reported by the agency “Tasnim”, among the victims – seven citizens of Iran.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Syrian air defense forces were able to destroy five of the eight missiles fired by Israeli F-15 on Monday night at the Syrian airbase in Homs province. “Three missiles reached the western part of the airfield, among the Russian advisers in Syria there are no victims,” ​​the ministry said.

Israel has not yet been commented on in connection with the air strike.
