Telegram Open Network will be compatible with Ethereum

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The Telegram blockchain will be compatible with Ethereum thanks to a special compiler. This is reported by CoinDesk , citing developers of tools for the new network.

TON Labs technology startup CEO Alexander Filatov said his team, in particular, is working on Solidity. This compiler will allow decentralized applications created for Ethereum to also run on the Telegram Open Network (TON) blockchain.

“Perhaps it was one of the most difficult things we created. It will allow the Ethereum advanced community to transfer everything created for broadcast to TON, ”Filatov said, noting that Solidity has been tested since July.

It is expected that the messenger developers will present the Telegram Open Network node code on Sunday, September 1. This will allow users to familiarize themselves with the project before launching it in the main network, scheduled for late October. According to the TON user agreement, if the network does not start before October 31, the project will return the funds to investors.

According to Filatov, the upcoming release of the code will be the most important step towards the launch of the Telegram Open Network:

“We have very little time between the release of the node and the launch of the main network. It’s necessary to test, identify and fix all kinds of bugs and vulnerabilities.”

The light client code for the Telegram Open Network was introduced in May. According to the head of TON Labs, the client enabled users to perform some basic operations in the new blockchain.

“You can play with GRAM tokens, write a simple smart contract that interacts with a node and an easy client, create a wallet ,” added Filatov.

Recall that some investors, not waiting for the full launch of TON, are already selling GRAM tokens in the secondary market.
