UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Jens Nygaard Knudsen – the designer of the Danish company Lego Group and the creator of the famous man LEGO died in 79 years of life. He suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Knudsen has been designing Lego for over 30 years, reports RIA News . The yellow LEGO man with moving arms and legs was patented by him in 1978.

His former colleagues claim that Knudsen had a fantastic imagination , and brainstorming with his participation turned into a brain hurricane, because he always had a lot of ideas.

Knudsen also developed the early LEGOLAND kits. He had the idea of ​​adding helipads to the sets “Hospital”, “Police” and “Fire Station”. He was the first creator of the designers of the Cosmos series.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is an incurable disease leading to paralysis and muscle atrophy. In March 2018, the famous astrophysicist Stephen Hawking died of this disease .
