The death toll from coronavirus in Hubei has grown to 1,068 people

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The death toll from a new type of coronavirus in the Chinese province of Hubei has grown to 1,068 people, according to the regional health committee.

The statement said that the number of people infected in the province was 33,366, and 2,639 patients were cured.

In the province, 1,638 new infections were recorded, of which 1,104 in Wuhan, the epicenter of the spread of coronavirus.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan in the central part of the country (Hubei Province). Experts have identified the causative agent of the disease – this is 2019-nCoV coronavirus.

The World Health Organization has given the new form of coronavirus from China its official name – COVID-2019.
