The end of the Castro brothers’ era in Cuba

CUBA (OBSERVATORY) –¬†For the first time in 69 years, none of the Castro family will run the country.

Cuban President Raul Castro, the younger brother of the late Fidel Castro, officially relinquishes his duties, bringing the page of the last generation of communist revolutionaries to Cuba.

The 86-year-old Castro has chosen a successor, Vice President Miguel Diaz Canel, 57, who will take over.
