Trump: G7 approaching Iran deal, Merkel says more needs to be done

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US President Donald Trump said on Monday leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations had shown “great unity” on the question of how to deal with Iran at their summit in France and that they had “almost” reached an agreement.

But German Chancellor Angela Merkel said as she sat next to him that more remained to be done, although she had fruitful talks with Trump on the issue.
