Trump: Iran has never won war, but it has never lost negotiations

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — US President Donald Trump said today that Iran “has never won a war” after the assassination of the top Iranian commander during the US air strike on the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

“Iran has never won a war, but it has never lost a negotiation!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The comments came in the wake of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s statement reiterating Washington’s commitment to de-escalate with Iran.

The US confirmed on Thursday that it carried out the attack that killed Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Pentagon accused Soleiman of planning to carry out attacks on US diplomats and members in Iraq and the region, saying the killed leader was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of US service and coalition members.
