Trump named US leader in energy production

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US President Donald Trump said his country has become “the number one energy producer in the world.”

“Since we have made great strides in the energy field over the past few years (thanks, Mr. President!), We are a net energy exporter and now the number one energy producer in the world,” he wrote on Twitter on Monday, September 16th.

The American leader added that the United States no longer needs Middle Eastern oil and gas. “In fact, we have very few tankers there, but we will help our allies,” Trump said.

Saudi Arabia, the largest exporter and one of the largest oil producers, after the September 14 attack on its oil facilities by the drones of the Houthi Yemeni rebels, reduced the production of “black gold” by more than two times – to 5 million barrels per day.

Earlier, US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry said at the conference “The Role of American LNG in Solving Global Problems” in Washington on September 12 that by the end of this year the state will be able to increase its potential for exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 150% compared to the end of 2018.

According to him, the country in 2020 for the first time since the administration of the 34th US President Dwight Eisenhower, who ruled in 1953-1961, will become a “net exporter of energy resources.”
