US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — U.S. President Donald Trump said he will not be tested for coronavirus, despite a recent statement by US Speaker Nancy Pelosi that this should be done.
Earlier, Pelosi, answering a journalist’s question about whether the US president should be checked for coronavirus, said that Trump “had to be checked for a long time.”
However, Trump again refused to do this in the presence of journalists.
“No, I’m not going to (check), I have many other things to do,” Trump answered in response to a request from journalists to comment on the speaker’s words during a conversation with the press in Washington .
Earlier it became known that Republican Congressman Matt Getz, who flew on Monday the “number one board” with President Donald Trump and quarantined the same day due to contact with a coronavirus infected person, said his analysis yielded a negative result . However, he still decided to self-isolate.
In addition, tests for coronavirus by Fabio Weingarten, the head of the Secretariat for Public Communications under the administration of the Brazilian president, gave a positive result, said the portal Globo. Prior to this, the Estado de S. Paulo informed that Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was under medical supervision in connection with suspected Weingarten coronavirus. Both Brazilians visited the United States last week, where they met with Trump.
