UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US President Donald Trump is confident that the new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is “exactly what England needs,” and doubts that attempts to raise the issue of confidence in him in parliament will be successful.
“Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the British Workers’ Party, will find it very difficult to get a vote of no confidence in the new Prime Minister Boris Johnson, especially in light of the fact that Boris is exactly what England was looking for and he will prove that he will be excellent (prime minister)”, Trump wrote Wednesday on his Twitter account .
On Wednesday, British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn announced that he intends to raise the issue of confidence in the country’s prime minister, Boris Johnson, and introduce bills that would prevent Brexit without an agreement with the EU next week.
Earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that he had appealed to the queen to suspend the parliament until October 14, which significantly reduces the chances that the deputies have time to prevent the country’s exit from the EU without an agreement.
Brexit is due to take place on October 31, the Queen will deliver a throne speech in which she sets out the government’s priorities on October 14.
Johnson explained his decision to end the current session of parliament and start a new desire to introduce and begin to implement a new domestic political agenda, however, many of his colleagues see his act as an intention to deprive parliament of voting rights ahead of Brexit and withdraw the country from the EU without an agreement. Johnson himself assures that the deputies will have enough time to discuss the situation around Brexit and, if a new agreement is reached with the EU, analyze it and adopt it.
