UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he was in a “very strong position” on Iran, which he believed wanted to do something to defuse tensions with the United States, speaking in a conciliatory tone ahead of his UN speech.
“I think we are doing a very good job,” Trump said on arrival at the UN. Let’s see what happens with Iran, but we are in a very strong position on it and I think they would like to do something and it would be smart if they did.”
