UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that his country was “doing very well” with China.
Trump, in a tweet on Twitter, said that “Washington’s behavior with Beijing now has never happened before.”
Trump has often criticized the behavior of previous US administrations with China and considers that they have allowed Beijing “not yet committed to fair and balanced trade, which has become a huge burden on the US taxpayer.”
Trump has vowed not to allow a repeat of his presidency.
At the end of last week, Trump said his country would increase tariffs on Chinese imports by $ 250 billion to 30 percent from 25 percent from early September.
Trump decided to raise tariffs on the remaining 300 billion dollars of China’s imports from 10 percent to 15 percent.
The US move came hours after Beijing announced a $ 75 billion tariff on US products.
