Turkish Armed Forces establish observation point in Syrian Ras Al Ain

SYRIA (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Turkish Armed Forces have set up an observation point in a village south of the Syrian city of Ras al-Ain they have occupied, says Syria’s state television.

Since October 9, Turkey has been carrying out Operation Source of Peace in northeast Syria against Kurdish units.

On October 17, the United States and Turkey agreed to suspend the operation for 120 hours and withdraw Kurdish forces from the 30-km buffer zone on the border between Turkey and Syria, which Ankara intends to control independently.

“The Turkish invaders have established a military observation point in the village of Salih, occupied by them, south of Ras al-Ain,” Ikhbariya television channel reports.

Syrian authorities have repeatedly condemned the occupation policy of Turkey in northern Syria.

Russia stated that Turkey needs to avoid actions that could stand in the way of resolving the Syrian conflict, which has been ongoing since 2011.
