Turkish army strikes Syrian positions in Tell Rifaat north of Aleppo

SYRIA (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The artillery of the Turkish troops is conducting intensive fire at the positions of the Syrian troops in the city of Tell Rifaat north of Aleppo.

This was announced on Friday by Al Mayadeen.

According to Al Mayadeen, in the ranks of the Syrian units there are no killed or wounded yet.

The Syrian army did not return fire.

According to the channel, by order of the Turkish military command, all formations of the Syrian armed opposition to the north and northeast of Aleppo were put on alert.

According to Al Mayadeen, a counter-offensive by militants may follow in the coming hours in order to regain control of their outposts in the vicinity of Aleppo.

On February 17, the command of the Armed Forces of the Republic reported that Syrian troops liberated from terrorists about 30 settlements to the west and north of Aleppo (360 km from Damascus) in record time. Gangs ceased resistance and retreated to the Turkish border.

Among the liberated villages are Al-Mansoura, Khan el-Asl, Khareitan, Anadan, Bayanun, Khayan, micro-districts of Liramun, Kafr Hamra, Jamiyat Kilikia and others, which have been in the hands of armed groups since 2012.

Turkish troops are now striking at Syrian positions in response to shelling an army convoy. As provincial governor Hatay Rahmi Dogan said earlier, the death toll of Turkish troops falling under the shelling of the Syrian troops increased to 29, and another 36 soldiers were injured.
