TURKEY (OBSERVATORY) – Turkey acted as an intermediary between the United States and Russia before the United States, together with France and the United Kingdom, struck Syria. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bekir Bozdag.
According to him, Ankara condemned the alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of the Duma and “clearly indicated its attitude” to this.
He added that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks with his counterparts from Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
“Turkey has become a kind of mediator in the search for a solution between Russia and the United States,” he wrote in his Twitter.
Earlier , the Turkish Foreign Ministry called a timely response to the operation of the United States, Britain and France in Syria.
