UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Twitter microblogging service confirmed the ban on advertising of Kaspersky Lab services, saying that the latter’s business model violates the rules for advertising a social network, and also referring to US statements that the firm has links with Russian special services, Reuters reported citing a statement Twitter.
“This decision is based on our belief that Kaspersky Lab is working with the use of a business model, which in its essence is contrary to acceptable business methods Twitter Ads,” – said in a Twitter statement directed by Reuters.
Earlier on Friday, the head of Kaspersky Lab, Eugene Kaspersky, in his blog in LiveJournal asked the Twitter authorities for clarification regarding this ban. From his letter it follows that at the end of January,
Twitter notified Kaspersky Labs about the ban on advertising of cybersecurity services from official accounts.
As Kaspersky said in his address to the leadership of Twitter, the ban is unreasonable.
