Two Palestinians killed in Gaza

PALESTINE (OBSERVATORY) – A second Palestinian youth was shot dead by Israeli troops during clashes during the “return march” two weeks ago near the border in the southern Gaza Strip, the health ministry said.

The deaths brought to 40 the number of Palestinians killed since the outbreak of Palestinian protests as part of the “March of Return” which began on March 30.

“The release of Said Wahba, 18, from Rafah, died of wounds sustained by the Israeli occupation, in the head, on the second Friday of the return journeys” on April 6, ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told AFP.

Al-Qudra announced that “Abdullah Mohammed Jibril Shamali (20 years) was killed by wounds sustained in the abdomen by the Israeli occupation forces Friday in Rafah” near the eastern border of the Gaza Strip with Israel.

About 5,000 Palestinians were shot and tear gas at the “march of the return” demonstrations, which began in conjunction with the anniversary of “Land Day”, to be concluded on the anniversary of the Nakba on May 15.

The protesters demanded the activation of the “right of return” of Palestinian refugees and the lifting of the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip.
