Two Turkish soldiers killed in strike at Idlib

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The Turkish Defense Ministry deplored the death of two of its soldiers in Idlib and announced that it had carried out a counterattack in which 114 Syrian targets were eliminated.

Two Turkish soldiers were killed and two others injured in an air strike in the Idlib governorate , said the Turkish Ministry of Defense. In response, the Turkish military opened fire against Syrian government troops.

“According to information we have obtained from various sources in the region, we have succeeded in eliminating in the strike 114 Syrian targets and in destroying an air defense system, a Zu-23 and an anti-tank system, three tanks, one vehicle with ammunition, “said the military department on Twitter.

In addition, Turkish forces captured three tanks, the ministry added.

Situation in Idlib

The Syrian television channel Al-Ikhbariya announced on Wednesday February 26 that the government army had liberated several localities in the south of the governorate.

On February 25, the President of Turkey again threatened to launch a military operation in Idlib Governorate if government forces did not move away from Turkish observation posts by the end of February.
